MAP - Manifold Absolute Pressure

The Map sensor is used to measure the absolute pressure in the intake of cars with electronic fuel injection. The stock sensor in Saabs Trionic 5 cars measures in the range of 0-2.5 bar. That means the ECU will control absolute vacuum (0 bar) and boost pressure of 1.5 bar. Since you want more boost than 1.5 bar (1.54 to be exact) you'll need to swap to a sensor that can measure up to 2 bars of boost pressure.

Since the scaling is different on a 3 bar sensor the ECU software needs to be modified for a 3 bar sensor. The sensor could even be used with Nira, Vems, MegaSquirt etc.
